A stage play by an older William Shakespeare, was performed for one night only at the Donmar Warehouse in London for a crowd of over 20,000 people.
Coriolanus, is about a political figure battling self integrity and the means of popularity. Shakespeare shows the consequences of rash decisions and what happens in the heart of a public figure.
Tom Hiddleston creates his character of Coriolanus by exploring his unique personality and putting himself in the shoes of one of the most feared politicians that Shakespeare had ever portrayed. The visual effects were stunning, the make-up was striking and perfectly suited the scene. The small cast used the stage well as they filled space and brought Shakespearean history alive with simple colour but with flamboyant taste. It was a marvel to watch, the acting was superb and the effect of the costumes and make up together transformed this simple play by a genius to a heightened level the brought people to their knees.
Written by: William Shakespeare
